D2v arc setup
Multiple Measurements: Some devices allow you to create multiple measurement sets up to four, depending on the device. For example, take one set of measurements with a drop-down video screen deployed and another with the screen hidden, drapes up or down, doors open or closed, and so on.
Multiple Profiles: Some devices allow you to create multiple system profiles up to four, depending on the device. For example, one profile can optimize your system as a multi-channel home theater with sub and another as a 2-channel music system without a sub. To zoom on a computer, place your cursor over the graph and spin your mouse wheel or choose Zoom In or Zoom Out.
To pan on a computer, left-click on a graph and drag it to change position. On a touch screen enabled device, you press the Zoom In or Zoom Out controls or press and drag to pan. To switch to a different language, select your preferred language from the Preferences panel, close the application, and restart it. Quick Measure and Snapshots: Quick Measure allows you to experiment with speaker and subwoofer positioning and settings outside of ARC while monitoring the resulting acoustic response in real time.
The snapshot feature allows you to freeze a curve to compare against subsequent changes that affect the acoustic response. Stepping the pace down produces sound that is cleaner, crisper and more infectious with the ARC engaged, bringing life and sparkle to slower-paced movies and Pixar classics alike. For example, compared to the implementation on the D2V, it is not quite as sophisticated and the upper frequency EQ stops at 5kHz.
With my elderly Tannoys and their now rather smooth and rolled-off top end, the Anthem never achieved the sheer magic of the full-bandwidth D2V ARC system. That said, it is still very impressive and some seven grand cheaper, too. With the ARC tuned to perfection, the MRX establishes a new standard of sonic performance at this price point, and leaves the rest of the pack sounding a little lacklustre by comparison.

The Anthem was an excellent pre pro tho I loved it. Thank you everyone for your input! I was already leaning towards the HTP-1 one and I think this discussion has sealed the deal. Thank you, again!! Danzilla31 said:. Some of the HTP-1 owners have discussed this on that other thread. Seems that perhaps Dirac has a library of target curves available, if I follow correctly. Muad'dib Enthusiast. The room corrections are also awesome in both..
Anthem with ARC and rotel with full Dirac. Comparing the room correction, they are closer than you think My basment is the worse room I could test in.. Unfinished wall, ceiling, etc.. Just wood joists and furnace.. Going from ARC with avm60 to new 70 is totally different animal No comparison..
The 70 ARC sounds crisper, detailed, more open. With same settings on avm60, it sounded like a cloth was in front of speakers This being said, Dirac vs ARC both sound amazing.. So I'm sure HTP-1 vs avm70, they both woukd sound awesome. Muad'dib said:. Muad'dib , thank you for the input. How has the AVM70 been from a stability and usability perspective?
I read a lot of early reviews that the unit was ridden with bugs and the new ARC room correction was almost unusable. It just does not have the latest formats, hardware, and features that I am looking for. Thank you again! Muad'dib , thank you! Good to hear that that it sounds like Anthem is not only working out the initial bugs, but are actively working to make it better. I did wonder and was hoping that the newer AVM70 would sound better than the at this point very old D2V.
